Immersion in room 15

On Tuesday the 12th of May, room 11 ran to room 15 to learn about pest control. Watched and listened to Miss Spencer but then she told us to go line up outside. We all marched to the courts to play this outstanding game called Possum Picnic. There were 2x pest 2x hunters and 20x trees, this game showed us how the pest in Aotearoa kills lots of God's creation.

Then we raced each other back to the class where Miss Spencer asked us if we can wait on the field. There she brought out an odd looking yellow box. She told us its called a timm trap, she set it up then told us to move back. We waited for a little bit, then she kicked it and it went off. I got scared.

Immersion with Miss Chaney

YAY it was our first immersion lesson for 2015 room 11 ran to room 14 ready to learn something new. We sat with excitement in front of Miss Chaney with huge smiles across our face with lots of energy. Then we got into groups, watched a video and chose a name for our Group, our name was M.M.A it stands for Maddie, Mckayla and Alina.

First we sat at the soil table then Mckayla put soil in the egg container then I put the mustard seeds on top of the soil after that Alina added more soil over top of the mustard seeds. Then we waited anxiously and excitedly.

At the end of our lesson we all thanked Miss Chaney, grabed our books and walked outside learning something new. After that we ran to room 11 for more learning. Thank you Miss Chaney for teaching us.

ANZAC Holiday

On the 25th of April I went with my sisters, my mum and my sisters friend to a service at the Hobsonvile R.S.A. It took forever because we had to walk about 1200 meters to get there.

When we arrived, we had to walk all the way to the front and sing God save the Queen. My mum and older sister and I had to stand for the whole thing I felt like my legs where going to snap.

When it was finishing to be honest I was a little bit happy and glad. Then we walked all the way back to the car. While we were walking My older Sister Antonia pushed me over on to the road I quickly got up and ran on to the footpath before the car came.

Cross Country 2015

I was running, getting my third mark and my blood was pumping and my hat was sticking to my head. I was about to give up until I heard, "Almost done, were nearly finished",Sebastian yelled .I huffed and puffed, running out of breathe, but after getting my energy back I zoomed past Skyla and Julia then past the church and room 17.

As I was racing myself up the huge grass hill I heard the whole senior syndicate chanting, "Maddie Maddie Maddie," I felt like I was at the Olympics running around the tracks 10 times, then I sprinted like my whole life depended on it. As I ran to get my final mark Taupiri took me into her arms and placed the black vivid upon my hand.

I ran to my Mother who was sitting there doing the scores. I sat next to her as she sported a great big grin across her face. She said " I'm so proud of you Mo". I just sat there too tired to move or say anything!

My Holiday

The past few days my holidays have been some of the happiest moments in my entire life.
The first thing I remember was when we finished school on Thursday, we raced off up to Waipu for the night.
When we woke up early in the morning we jumped in the car again and zoomed off to Pataua. It felt like forever but we finally arrived and had to say hi to a whole island full of people.
Later in the day, about 7ish, my cousins Kaia, Olivia and I went for a ride on the sea biscuit on the back of the boat. My uncle drove and it was soooooo much fun (and a tiny bit scary). Of course I didn't scream my head off........ NOT. At the end we all fell off and we were under the sea biscuit. I was so scared and thought I was going to drown and die. After a few days it was time to pack up and drive back to Waipu. It was so hard and sad to say goodbye. It took FOREVER to say good bye to about 500,000 people! Then we hit the road for our long trip back to Waipu.

Polyfest 2015

On Wednesday the 18th of March, 2015 Liston College and St Dominic's Catholic College preformed at Polyfest. I was so excited, to watch MY older brother perform at Polyfest, for the first time. He looked so proud of himself and he should be. He also made me proud to call him my brother.

Then they sang my favourite song Tato A Heo., which was led by Kesha. During the song Kesha changed the song a bit, it made me feel fixated, every one cheered for her because Kesha did it with great mana. When they finished they showed off their scary Pukana and the St Peters Kapa Haka group stood up and did a Haka to pay respect to Liston College and St Dominics for all of there hard work.

After, it was time to go get something to eat but first Pa the Kapa Haka tutor brought us a Cookies and Cream Wonka bars to say thank you.
